The fifth of six Regional Championships has been completed. The Bay Team again hosted the Grand Prix of Dog Agility Regional Championship which included qualifiers for the 2003 Dog Agility Steeplechase Championships and Dog Agility Masters Team Championship. Round 2 was presided over by Patty Drom of Texas. Of the 99 dogs entered in Round 1, 51 found themselves in the position to vie for four finalist places. The victor in the 12" class was Anne Platt and her PWC, Acie with a clear round in 37.85 seconds on the 163-yard course. Standard Course Times was 54 seconds. NancyKleinhans and SS Joni took the honors in the 16" class with a clear round in 33.67 seconds on a 165-yard course with a 52-second SCT. Going to Dallas to compete in the finals in the 22" class will be Sandy Rogers and her BC Brink. This team posted the fastest clear run in Round 2 with an amazing time of 30.50 seconds. Standard Course Time on the 173-yard course was 48 seconds. In the 26" class Jen Pinder and BC Static won first place with a clear round in 32 seconds flat. For complete results, click here.
In the Steeplechase qualifier, Nancy Louise Jones and her JRT Pip won the 12" class with a score of 34.88. Nancy and Tigger secured second place as well with a score of 34.98. Winning 16" was A. Harmetz and SS Marlowe with a score of 36.62. In the 22" class, junior handler Kate Moureaux and her BC Quick won with a score of 31.05 while Susan Cochran and BC Aiko won in the 26" class with a score of 32.67. For complete results, click here.
BC Brace & The Bugle comprised of Chris Dyer's BC Reilly, Stacy Peardot-Goudy's BC Secret and Candy Gaiser's Foxhound Wog, took first place in the Dog Agility Masters Team Qualifier earning 1207.54 points after five classes. For complete results, click here.
The sixth and final Grand Prix of Dog Agility Regional Championship along with a Dog Agility Steeplechase qualifier will be hosted by CATS in New Hampshire on September 13 & 14.
