A rebirth of the Spring Festival of Dog Agility® in an all new concept on Easter Weekend.
With the introduction of a new concept by clubs in the mid-atlantic region of the U.S., a new concept has evolved that is to resurrect the Spring Festival of Dog Agility®. What began as a single event has evolved into a multi-club, dual location, first ever simulcast event over the Internet.
On April 2-4, 2010, clubs in the Mid-Atlantic Region will join forces to offer The Mid-Atlantic Showcase in a three-day extravaganza, and in South Central Texas Hill Country Agility & Bexar Regional Agility Team will join forces to offer The Hill Country Agility Showcase, in what will climax with competitors in both locations running head-to-head across some 1,500 miles via the Internet on USDAA.com, competing for prizes and top honors.
The two events are operating under the banner of the Spring Festival of Dog Agility®, and with success, more clubs will be provided the opportunity to become part of the simulcast event in future years.
The showcase tournament will consist of three classes in an individual triathlon event, where points are accumulated from Team & Performance Versatility Standard and Jumping classes and culiminating with a third and final Showcase Standard run each for the Championship and Performance finals. Courses will be identically set in both locations and scores combined to determine the winners from the two events. Cash prizes are being offered in both events and an overall award to be determined will be provided to the winner in each program. Titling and other USDAA tournaments will fill out the three-day schedule.
Tentative class schedules and judging panels have already been released on the Events Calendar on USDAA.com.
Details are being finalized, so watch for posting of the test schedules for more details in the next few days.
