The New England Regional was about more than winning. Val Duff shares the details about a successful fundraiser that took place at the event.
In April of 2011, I lost my best friend, Australian Shepherd "Party" ADCH Propwash Night on the Town PT, OA, OAJ, to liver cancer with metastasis to the lymphatic system. She was just 4 ½ years old. To say I was devastated would be an understatement.
To celebrate Patty and to help other dogs with cancer, some friends of mine got together with me to raise money for the National Canine Cancer Foundation at the New England Regional, which took place July 13-15, 2012. We held a Chase for the Cure fun class and the donations went to the NCCF. We also had a dock diving pool that helped raise funds, plus we collected donations.
Thank you to everyone who played in the dock diving pool, made donations, or ran in the Chase for the Cure. With your help we raised $3104.00. I am beyond speechless. You guys ROCK! Special thanks to Diane, Frances, Deb and Mo and Marvelous Mutts for helping me make this happen!
Not a day goes by that I don't miss my Party girl but I feel privileged that I can help such a fabulous organization.
