Teams from 21 states traveled to Blue Springs, Missouri for the 2012 Central Regional Championships held on Friday, August 10th, through Sunday, August 12th.  The event was hosted by Casa de Canine and was the first regional championships undertaken by the group.  Despite a summer filled with temperatures consistently reaching over 100 degrees, weather conditions weren't a concern because the classes were held in air conditioning at the Sports City Arena. The two rings were both on soccer turf and were a great surface for the 186 dogs participating in the trial.

Judges Peggy Hammond and Scott Chamberlain brought some fun and challenging courses, set up by chief course builder Lori Michaels and all who pitched in to help. The club offered Starters/P1 and Advanced/P2 classes all three days, so that less experienced dogs would have a chance to play as well.  The event was live streamed at Cynosport.tv with commentary from USDAA vice president Andy Hartman and local agility competitor Tracey Kroll. Computer monitors were available at trial secretary Karen Nenow's table so that competitors could quickly see results entered by Karen, Lisa Kramer, and the table volunteers.  Hospitality coordinator Ann Koenig had plenty of food and drinks available for the many volunteers, who were coordinated by chief ring steward Lorraine Bredahl.

Trial chairperson Paula Froog hopes everyone who participated enjoyed their time in the Kansas City area.  "I'd like to thank everyone who came and who helped out and made it a positive experience for so many people," says Froog.
