Why do many dogs perform differently at trials than they do in practice?
Imagine this scenario: your dog is a terrific weaver in practice, but at trials, he always blows past them on the first try. Sometimes, he acts like he doesn't see the poles, or like he doesn't know how to weave at all!
Sometimes, competitors assume this type of behavior means that a dog is "blowing them off," or purposefully not turning in his best performance. Is that really what's going on?
