Marcy lives in Foster City, California, where she's a graphic designer. She's been competing in agility for 18 fun-filled years and will now be representing Team USA in the 16" jump height division with her four-year-old Shetland Sheepdog, Stripe.
In just two short years of competing in USDAA, Stripe has earned Top Ten placements, as well as many placements at regional events. He also earned his first trip to the podium at the 2014 United States Dog Agility Assoication's Cynosport World Games, finishing second place overall in Master Challenge Biathlon.
This will be Stripe's second international event, but Marcy is no stranger to international competitions. This upcoming World Agility Championships will be her 14th international event! She and her other Sheltie, Wave, were World Champions in 2008.
Marcy's goal for this year's event is to apply all their training, so they run to their fullest potential both mentally, and technically.
Those who know Stripe would say he is "exceptionally sweet and easy going" and unique in many ways. But, it is the white stripe down his left side that is his most unusual marking as a sable and white Sheltie. Marcy likes to refer to it as his "racing stripe." And when she was deciding what to name her new puppy, she says, "I don't know why I even tried, because he just named himself."
