A message from USDAA President Kenneth Tatsch from this month's Overview newsletter.
As 2015 comes to close, we look back on all that's been accomplished this year. We helped six groups celebrate milestone anniversaries five with their 25th anniversary of hosting shows and one celebrating 30 years with USDAA. We thank them all for their continued support and helping grow dog agility in their area.
The newly expanded Advisory Committee provided feedback on several policies this year. An updated Bitches in Season policy, the ability to move from Championship to Performance when you measure up at a show, and whether "schooling rings" or training should be permitted at local events were all vetted through the Committee. Upcoming policy changes regarding these matters are being finalized and will be announced shortly after the first of the year.
Looking ahead to 2016 there is much to look forward to and plan. The first Regional Championship is scheduled over the New Year's holiday, followed by the World Team Selection Event at the end of January. We'll be announcing the 2016 IFCS Team USA members shortly thereafter and will continue to raise funds for team travel through United States Association of Cynological Sports, a 501 (c)(3) public charity. Donations to USACS are tax deductible, so if you are looking for tax deductions for 2015, be sure to get your charitable contributions made by December 31. You can make donations by credit card on the USDAA website or by sending a check to USACS, PO Box 940225, Plano, TX 75094-0225.
You can help raise funds for the team by shopping on Amazon Smile and designating USACS as your charity. They will donate a portion of your purchase to support USACS!
We're also thrilled to announce that both Zuke's and Glyco Flex will once again be Official Sponsors of 2016 Cynosport® World Games in Scottsdale, AZ. Their continued support and presence at the event is greatly appreciated and contribute to a memorable experience for everyone.
New for 2016 will be the first-of-its-kind event to recognize excellence and performance through accuracy and consistency in the Championship, Performance and Veterans titling programs. We are pleased to officially announce Title Mania®, which is scheduled June 16 19 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH. This is an outstanding facility with an indoor, regulation football field.
We are making plans for the first World Cynosport Rally Obedience Championships to be held in conjunction with TitleMania as a multifaceted event. Event details will be announced next month.
From all of us at USDAA, we wish you and your families a safe and happy holiday season!
