A new study by scientists demonstrates that dogs actually have very precise drinking methods.
A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences looks at how dogs bring water into their mouths when drinking. Through the use of photography and simulations in the lab, they found that what may appear to us as "sloppy" is in fact very precise movements.
They also discovered that there are differences in how dogs and cats drink based on the structure of their mouths. You can read more about the study at Science Daily.
