August 7 to 13 is the week to celebrate the importance of assistance dogs in our lives!
International Assistance Dog Week was created to honor hard-working, and in many cases, life-saving, assistance dogs. Without assistance dogs, many people with disabilities would not be able to navigate the outside world and actively participate in their communities. From physical ailments to mental disabilities, assistance dogs make their human handlers' lives whole and enrich the lives of their friends and families as well.
