President's Message

October's President's Message from USDAA President Ken Tatsch.

Congratulations to the newest members of IFCS Team USA for 2017. Based on their performance at the World Team Selection Event in Pennsylvania earlier this month, our team selections are complete and we turn our sights to Valencia next April. In addition to these team members IFCS allows the option to choose a previous dog/handler medalist to be added to the team and in case of injury or illness an alternate will be announced for each jump height. An announcement on these positions will be forthcoming.

We are pleased to announce the dates and locations for Title Mania next year. Building on the success of the inaugural event this past summer, we are offering three regional events in 2017, enabling more people to have access to the events. USDAA is proud to be partnering with USDAA groups to spread the enthusiasm for these events.

For those who missed Title Mania last year, the featured event is offered as a means of recognizing those who excel in accuracy, consistency, and versatility in competition against the standards of performance defined in USDAA Rules & Regulations. Title Mania events are offered as a come one, come all events, which provides a once a year opportunity to invite your friends that compete in other programs to come and experience the excitement of USDAA competition without regard to previous accomplishments in USDAA programs. Mark your calendars for the competition nearest to you:

  • April 20 - 23, Camarillo, CA, co-hosted by USDAA & DART
  • July 6 - 9, Franklin, TN, co-hosted by USDAA & K9 Sports of Tennessee
  • May 25 - 28, North Kingstown, RI, co-hosted by USDAA & Riverside Canine Center

Special awards for Title Mania Dog of the Year in each discipline - Gamblers, Snooker, Agility, & Jumping - as well as special Title Mania Versatility Awards make this an opportunity competitors will not want to miss.

Finally, we are gearing up for Cynosport 2016. I wish safe travels to those making way to Scottsdale next month. We are excited to be returning to Scottsdale, as it is a fantastic venue for our event. Those unable to make the journey should be sure to watch the live web cast of the finals, which will be offered free of charge this year. If you haven't done so already, be sure to sign up for updates on for timing and other event information.
