A blast from the past! By Leona Hellesvig
The Steeplechase classic was run on a course from 1999 in Fair Hill. Don Cooper from England was both course designer and judge.
Before running the course, very few competitors anticipated difficulty. Handlers thought it was very straightforward, and a good end to a great weekend, especially for "baby dogs".
In the actual running of this course, few handlers had errors on the course. The most frequent fault locations of the few errors that did occur were the turn to jump #8/16, where the bar occasionally fell or a runout/refusal occurred. Most handlers performed some sort of cross either before or after A-frame #9.
