Environmental Notes
The site is located in an industrial area. Outside areas are concrete or asphalt. If your dog has tender feet, boots to protect the feet from the hot summer surface may be warranted. Giving your dog a chance to get comfortable with boots prior to the show will make your first indoor show in Phoenix easier.
There are two small potty areas; one dirt and the other on artifical turf.
There is no place to throw a ball or other toy. You may wish to devise other games or tricks to warm up your dog prior to your runs.
Top Notch Canines has indoor restrooms and excellent evaporative cooling throughout the warehouse. Additional fans will be placed to maintain optimal airflow in the crating area. If you wish to bring additional fans they MUST be battery powered.
WARM UP AREA
A warm up area with a single practice jump will be provided outside on matting near an entrance to the building. No other obstacles may be set up or used at the show site for training, warm-up or any other purpose. Warm-up area and rings feature Comfort King matting.
SPECIAL REQUEST
To help protect the matting on the floor from the granite, grit and grime of Arizona we request that everyone clean and inspect the shoes they will be wearing and remove pebbles and pieces of granite since these may damage the flooring. It helps to wear another pair of shoes to the event and enter the building by walking on the all-weather mat to the kennel area. Once there you can sit down to change your shoes. IMPORTANT: no dollies/carts inside the building.
CRATING AREA
There will be adequate crating space for everyone as long as everyone plans ahead and doesn't use an excessive amount of space. Personal chairs will not be allowed in the crating area. Chairs are welcome in the spectator area. We have allowed for approximately 6 foot wide aisles so dogs will not be in each other's faces when moving to and from the kennel area.
Please plan to stack crates if needed. Only soft sided kennels may be placed directly on the matting; all wire/metal kennels and XPens must be placed in the concrete section or on some type of rug, towel etc that will protect the mat from damage. Limited X-pens will be allowed but please only for 2 or more dogs. Some crating will be on the concrete, we cannot avoid it. Please plan to bring extra thick bedding.
Concessions
A food vendor may be on site. Check your final confirmation for details.
Express & Overnight Entries
Entries sent by Fedex, Express Mail or other courier service will only be accepted if the waiver allowing delivery without signature is signed. The club will not be responsible for deliveries delayed if a signature is required.
No Entry For Exhibition Only
No entry "For Exhibition Only" shall be accepted, except as provided for in Chapter 10 when Intro Program classes are offered. See additional note for club policy regarding dogs that measure up.
General Rule on Eligibility
This event is sanctioned by the United States Dog Agility Association, Inc. ("USDAA").
This test is open to all persons with dogs being at least 18 months of age (14 months of age pursuant to Chapter 10 for Intro Program when offered), regardless of pedigree or absence thereof, who have a current registration with USDAA and whose owners and the dog's handler are currently in good standing with USDAA.
This event will be held under USDAA® Official Rules and Regulations, a copy of which may be viewed and printed online at www.usdaa.com.
Policy on Refusal of Entry
The Organizing Committee of an event may refuse the entry of any competitor or dog for just cause should the Committee view that participation by the competitor or dog could be prejudicial to the sport. However, in such case, the Committee must notify the competitor in writing upon receipt of entry, but in no case, more than three days following the event closing date for acceptance of entries. The burden of responsibility for the appropriateness of such action rests solely with the host group and its Organizing Committee.
NSF Check/Credit Card
Any check or credit card that is charged back by the bank or other financial institution may be assessed a service charge of up to $40 per incident at the discretion of the host group.
Returned checks or credit card returns do not constitute a valid entry. Amounts shall be paid within 30 day of postmarked notice of the returned payment if such date follows the event date. Any fees not received within 30 days of notice will result in cancellation of event results for all classes related to the entry for which payment was made. No reinstatement of results is possible, and all awards must be returned within 10 days of notification or the dog's registration may be suspended pending restitution.
Any unpaid fees or shortfalls must be paid prior to the start of the event, or entry is canceled without recourse.
Refund Policy
There shall be NO REFUNDS for entries withdrawn after the closing date for acceptance of entries, for absentee, dismissal from the event as a result of disciplinary action, dismissal from a class, or for any other reason. Also, no entry fees will be refunded if the event cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, acts of terrorism, fire, "act of God", public emergency, strike, or any other cause beyond the control of the host organization.
Next-Day Move Ups Allowed
Next-Day Move Ups AllowedCompetitors earning a qualification during the Event that is needed to complete a title may advance their level THE NEXT DAY at the same event, i.e. move-ups on consecutive days ARE allowed. Competitors are responsible for keeping accurate records of their qualifying scores and the judges from whom these scores were earned prior to this event to ensure that the dog is eligible to move up based upon scores earned at this Event. Competitors are advised to confirm scores earned with the scorekeeper and judge at the conclusion of a class to ensure the qualifying score has been accurately calculated and awarded in accordance with regulations. If for any reason it is determined that the score or previous scores were inaccurate, making the entry ineligible for the higher level class, any results (including awards) shall be forfeited and the entry will be deemed invalid without refund or other recourse. Move-up forms supplied by this event must be used to notify the secretary BEFORE she leaves the site the day on which you earn your title.
TNC Refund Policy
Prior to first closing date any dog may be withdrawn from the trial with a full refund. After closing competitors with bitches that come into season or injured/ill dogs shall be refunded the full amount of their entry less the amount owed USDAA. The Trial Secretary must be notified that the dog is being withdrawn prior to the start of the Trial. The dog will be withdrawn for the entire trial. ALL requests for refunded entry fees must be accompanied by a veterinarian's letter and must be provided to the Trial Secretary by the close of the trial (close of the trial defined as completion of the last run). All other requests for a refund will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. In most cases refunds for in-state residents will be in the form of a Top Notch Canines credit memo to be used for any dog owned by the handler. Credit memo funds can be used for classes, future events/trials at Top Notch Canines. Requests for refunds in the form of a check will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. It is the entrant's responsibility to check entries and confirmations for errors. No entry will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellations of entries after the closing date (with the exception listed in the statement above).
Submission of Entries with Secondary Move-Up Date
All entries or cancellations must be received at the Secretary's address no later than the closing date, after which time no entries will be accepted or cancelled. For entries received by the closing date, the level of entry into a given class may be advanced by notifying the Secretary in writing via email by the "Secondary Closing Date". No other changes, cancellations or additions may be made after the initial closing date.
To be accepted, entries must be complete, signed (by parent or legal guardian if handler is a minor), received by the closing date and accompanied by the correct fees and include a valid USDAA registration number on a completed registration form.
Prohibitions on Aids & Devices
No leads, collars, food, toys or other aids or devices shall be permitted on the course at any time, except as provided for in Chapter 10 when Intro Program classes are offered, or in Chapter 8 when Junior Handler Program classes are offered.
Statement of Responsibility
Competitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs, children or guests. A competitor whose dogs, children or guests create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Organizing Committee, be asked to leave the test site.
Policy on Fault Limits
In the event of a larger entry, fault limits may be set at the discretion of the Organizing Committee and/or Judge without pre-event notice.
Spam Blocker
Confirmations will be sent via email using the secretary's address. If you have a spam blocker on your email account, please configure it to allow email from the secretary's address since confirmations will be sent from this account.

When not enrolling electronically, please send a copy of one the following items to facilitate the check-in process:
- photocopy of permanent dog registration card,
- printout of the dog-information page from your USDAA® competitor web account, or
- copy of your check-in letter from USDAA indicating your temporary card has been accepted by the USDAA office and your permanent registration card is in process.
A Dog that Measures Up at Check-In - May Run FEO
If a judge's measurement of a dog at check-in establishes that the dog is ineligible for the height class in which entered, the competitor may opt to run the dog in the lower jump height class "For Exhibition Only", and no awards or qualifying scores may be earned. JUNIOR HANDLER REGISTRATION - $25.00
|
|
Dogs must be registered with USDAA in order to compete in USDAA sanctioned events. A registration card
and number with a "U" prefix will be issued to facilitate entry at USDAA events and tracking of show
results in the regular classes.
|
|
Junior handlers (those 18 years of age and younger) and their dogs must be separately registered for
participation in the USDAA's Junior Handler Program (UJHP). A registration number with a "J" prefix
will be assigned for use in entering UJHP events. A dog competing in both programs (regular classes
and UJHP) must be registered separately for each program, for which the total fee is $50.00. Register online at www.usdaa.com and save more than 10%.
