The last Regional Championship has been run and the last four finalists have been named. Canine Agility Training Society hosted the Grand Prix of Dog Agility Northeast Regional Championships. Sue Henry of Texas presided over both rounds. In the 26" height class, Lewis Fischman and his Vizsla, Jake, took first place with a time of 35.15 seconds and 0 faults. The standard course time for the open dogs was 46 seconds on the 167 yard course. Taking home a blue ribbon in the 22" height class was Rhonda Carter handling Diane Sanders' BC, Streak. This team turned in a clear round in 30.80 seconds. In the mini division, Erin Schaefer and Sheltie Jag ran the 161 yard course in 31.64 seconds without fault. The standard course time for the 16" division was 51 seconds. The 12" standard course time was 55 seconds. In first place was Canadian, Susan Garrett and her Jack Russell, Twister, with a clear run in 34.20 seconds For a complete listing of all semifinalists, click here.
This show also marked the last opportunity to qualify for the 2003 $10,000 Dog Agility Steeplechase Championships. Earning top prize in the 12" class was Mike Murphy and JRT Bailey who had a score of 33.15. Winning the 16" height class is transplanted Canadian, Pam Reid and All American Eejit with a score of 30.62. Jennifer Pinder and Border Collie, Dealer found themselves in the money as they won the 22" height class with a score of 28.83. And in a very close one, Susan Garrett and Border Collie Buzz won first in the 26" height class with a score of 29.27; following closely in 2nd place was Julie Daniels and BC Spring with a score of 29.73 and in third place with a score of 30.20 was Jen Pinder and BC Static.
