USDAA OVERviewTM Newsletter recognized by Dog Writers Association of America.
Brenna Fender, USDAA's news page editor, was in New York City on Sunday, February 13, to represent USDAA at the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) annual awards banquet.
Late last year USDAA was notified of its nomination for best "E" magazine, one of some forty categories evaluated by DWAA for writing and publishing excellence in a number of print, broadcast and electronic media each year.
The USDAA OVERviewTM was among the final two publications nominated for DWAA's Maxwell Award in the category of best electronic magazine and was named Best of 2010 Sunday night. (Brenna shows off the Maxwell Award medallion in photo at left.)
Brenna Fender, together with graphics artist Valerie Evans of Dallas, Texas, put together the USDAA OVERview, which is published by USDAA quarterly. "Brenna and Valerie have worked hard on the OVERview since it was introduced a few years ago, and we are excited to have their work recognized by their peers through the Dog Writers Association of America," says USDAA President Kenneth Tatsch.
The USDAA OVERview eNewsletter is a digest of select articles appearing on the USDAA Competitor Services News page. The current edition of the OVERview and past issues are available for download in the Forms & Documents Library under General Information on USDAA.com.
DogSports Magazine was the only other publication representing canine sports and dog agility to receive recognition at this year's DWAA awards. DSM was awarded best Special Interest Magazine.
