2006 World Cynsport Games names champs
Cynosport medalists were named in the flying disc competition held at the Ashley Whippet and FDDO contests. Earning the gold medal was Steve Malmlov and Foster a Cattle-dog mix from Lodi, CA. Coming in second with the silver was Darron Barrus and The Moo a border collie from Pelham, Alabama. The bronze medal went to Chris Sexton and Banzai a border collie from Evergreen, Colorado.
After ten waves of competition, Dock Dogs named the top three jumping dogs for the four days. Going home with a gold medal were Gabe a border collie owned by Todd Bobula from Dayton Nevada. Gabe posted a 22.04' jump. The silver medalist was Gunner a yellow lab owned by Bart Richardson who hales from Ripon, California. Gunner's best jump of 22.03' was just a hair behind Gabe's. Bronze went to Haley also a yellow lab owned by Andrea Yankowsky from LaJolla, California. Haley's best jump was 20.07'.
The Duel in the Desert Flyball tournanment championship was captured by a division three team. This year's format included a handicapping system that allowed lower division teams to compete head to head with the higher divisions in the knock-out round robin, and it seems to have been successful. Team captain, Jackie McCourtie of Denver, Colorado lead her team, RUFF Enuff, to victory. Team members, Brisco/BC/Travis Cooper, Dottie/BC/Eris Hess, Gypsy/Lab/Caryn Ashbay, Rush/Mix/Jackie McCourtie and Willow/JRT/Jackie McCourtie came away with the title.
Congratulations to all Cynosport medalists and champions.
