Learn more about this IFCS World Agility Championships Team USA competitor.
Linda Womer is a veterinarian in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania where she lives with her son, Zac. She's been competing in agility for over 10 years and she and her six-year-old Papillon, Sonic, will be representing Team USA in the 12" height division.
This is the second consecutive year Linda and Sonic have been part of Team USA and she's thrilled to have a another opportunity to be on the team! Their goals for the event are to help earn as many points as possible for the team with clean runs every day. They also plan to have fun running the challenging international courses together.
As a single mom, Linda got Sonic as a house pet. She never intended for him to be successful in agility since her time is limited for training dogs. But when Sonic was a puppy, she enrolled him in a foundation class for agility "just for fun" and discovered how much Sonic loves to work and learn new things. The rest is history!
Besides running agility, Sonic has quite the repertoire of tricks. He can hide himself in a suitcase, pick up and put away her son's toys, say his prayers and even get clothes out of the dryer!
Sonic also enjoys training and running agility with her son, Zac. Together, these two have earned a few qualifying scores at the Masters level!
