Meet the 2015 Cynosport World Games "Judge of the Day!"
The 2015 Cynosport World Games are just a few weeks away! The event begins on Wednesday, October 21 and ends on Sunday, October 25 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Visit the Cynosport websitefor more details. Judges Wim Bekendam, Francisco Berjon, Sandra Katzen, Carol Kramer and Eric Quirouet will be presiding. We're going to take some time before the event to get know each of our judges better and will be featuring profiles over the next few weeks. Today meet Eric Quirouet!
I am from the Detroit metro area. My wife and I started doing agility in about 1996, after we saw an agility demo. We looked at each other and said, my dog can do that. Through the years I have trained and run a Jack Russell Terrier and a Plott Hound.
Presently, I am not running a dog, but hope to again after I have my knees replaced.
In my dog family, we have a Jack Russell Terrier named Flirt, another Jack Russell Terrier named Stinger, Party is a Border staffy, and then there is Pinky. Pinky is a pit bull who just wandered into our grooming salon. Pinky is a special kind of goofy. We do frequent Pinky updates on Facebook to tell of our escapades around town.
Because I am a replacement for Jelinda because of her injury, I have no idea what classes I will be judging. I will prepare for Cynosport like I do for any other show. The game is the same, just on a larger scale. I judged Cynosport last year, so I have a good idea what to expect.
So far as advice for competitors, I would just say take a deep breath, trust your training and run like you train. Nobody should be intimidated by showing at Cynosport or any large regional, just run like it's any local show and have fun. If you have fun, it will always be a wonderful memory.
