The December OVERview message from USDAA's Vice President Andy Hartman.
2016 has been one of USDAAs busiest years ever with Regionals running from January through September, IFCS World Team Selection Events in January and October, the launch of Title Mania® in June, and the return of the Cynosport® World Games to WestWorld last month. Planning for our events in 2017 and 2018 is well underway!
The USDAA Advisory Committee provided feedback on a number of important items throughout the year. Accomplishments for 2016 include: Policy Statement on Miscellaneous Classes at Local Events (allowing competitors to train in the ring), Policy Statement on Switching from Championship to Performance When a Dog Measures Up, A-frame height change, removal of the Closed Tunnel (Chute) from competition, Policy Statement for Accommodating Dogs in Relay Titling Classes, 2017 Jump Height Amendments, and a new Super Q calculation.
With 2016 winding down we are looking ahead to 2017. Regional Championships start in March and run through September. Planning is ongoing for the three upcoming Title Mania Events; West on April 20-23, East on May 25-28, and Central on July 6-9. The IFCS World Agility Championships will be held in Valencia, Spain, April 26-30. With Cynosport 2016 barely in the rearview mirror we are working hard on the 2017 Cynosport World Games to be held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on October 24-29.
We want to thank everyone who has been a part of USDAA in 2016 including our competitors, volunteers, sponsors, and groups! Your support makes USDAA possible!
We hope you have wonderful time over the holidays and wish you a Happy New Year!
