The USDAA Hall of Fame Committee considers candidates for induction to the Dog Agility Hall of Fame. Forms are now available for submitting nominees.
The Hall of Fame Committee is presently reviewing the list of past Meritorious Service Award recipients to determine who shall be listed in the new "Pioneers of Agility" section of the Hall of Fame. The Committee has also prepared a list of candidates for consideration and welcomes submissions, a form for which has been posted to the Forms & Documents Library (see "Administrative Forms" in the F&D Library in the General Information section of the web site).
The two categories for which nominations are accepted are Pioneers of Agility and Meritorious Service. The Hall of Fame also includes past tournament champions, Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, and Top Ten Award recipients.
To be considered for induction to the Pioneers of Dog Agility or Meritorious Service sections, a nominee must meet stringent criteria. Nominations are received throughout the year and will be reviewed annually by the Committee to evaluate the merits of nominee's contributions and/or accomplishments. The Committee will establish (1) whether their accomplishments or contributions are significantly impactful to the sport or the sports development and (2) whether they are of lasting significance.
The Committee's evaluation will weigh and summarize the merits of the nomination as to the impact and lasting significance of the nominees contribution, regionally or nationally, and to either:
(1) accept and notify the nominee of their induction into the Hall of Fame,
(2) establish that the nomination has merit to be further considered and table the nomination until the following or future year to further evaluate the impact, significance and/or longevity of impact, or
(3) reject the nomination.
The Hall of Fame Committee is listed on the "Contact Us" page of the USDAA web site. For more information, visit the Hall of Fame page under Awards on the web site.
