Half-Siblings Share Podium at World Agility Championships
Tervurens Rush and Firefly shine on international stage.

IFCS 2023 champs Tracy Duncan with Rush and Roger Ly with Firefly
Tracy Duncan and Roger Ly were the “Tervy” part of Team USA’s Gold Medal winning team (along with Jeremy Gerhard with Maverick and Heather Witt with Rowan) with their Tervuren half-siblings, Rush and Firefly. Tracy and Roger compete against each other locally, constantly pushing each other to do their best, and loved sharing the podium in the U.K.
“One of the best experiences in agility I’ve had was made even better competing alongside my friend Tracy and Fire’s half-sibling Rush,” said Roger, who ran with 4-year-old Firefly. “We were able to share both individual and team successes and stand on the podium together at the end of the evening. It was so great to showcase successful Tervs on the international stage, and I know our breeders were beaming with pride.”
“When we got our team assignments, it was the best-case scenario,” Tracy said. “We could play to our strengths with Firefly in agility and Rush in jumping. We walked the relay course together, and I knew that Roger and Firefly could be the strongest members for our team with a better A-frame performance. My job was to cheer as loud as possible and root for them to do their thing. It was so incredible to come away with the top spot, and I’m so proud to have shared the experience and the medal with both of them.”
