Kari Massoth - 2020 - Volunteer of the Year
As a reliable and helpful advocate for USDAA, Kari Massoth has given significantly of her time and talents on behalf of the agility community.
For more than two-and-a-half years, Kari has welcomed newcomers to the sport as volunteer moderator of the Start Line Agility group on Facebook. The group has grown significantly over that time, now boasting more than 1,600 members. As moderator, Kari engages participants in discussion, answers group questions and offers a friendly voice to all who seek her advice.
Kari also serves on the USDAA Advisory Board, collaborating with other members on rules and updated procedures for USDAA. While representing the Advisory Board at the 2019 Cynosport World Games, Kari was asked to help provide commentary during runs because of her knowledge of the sport.
In 2020, Kari also stepped up to help moderate the USDAA@Home! Facebook group, serving as a resource to handlers navigating a new, virtual environment.
Kari’s Doberman Pinscher, Kurt, is now retired from agility; she currently competes with her Australian Kelpie, Aegon. Outside of agility, Kari works as a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) and Lifecycle Director at Microbe Formulas in Nampa, Idaho, where she resides.
