Coleen Hawker - 2015 - Meritorious Service

Coleen HawkerFor more than 15 years, Coleen Hawker and her husband, Kevin, have been making quality agility equipment and been the driving force behind Wasatch Agility, the only group in Salt Lake City, Utah, to host USDAA trials.

Not only do they hold three USDAA trials a year, they also host the Rocky Mountain Regional every few years. Coleen also offers a few one-day agility trials catering specifically to Starters and Advanced competitors to attract new people to the sport locally and also earn Qs for new dogs without having to drive five to eight hours to compete. Any profit made from shows is put back into enhancing and improving their equipment.

Coleen has not competed in agility in years because she's too busy being one of the top competitors in herding competitions.

Coleen is also known for her generosity. A tradition at the Wasatch annual June trial is for her family to host the most incredible and delicious BBQ for every competitor, free of charge. It's just one of the ways Coleen thanks all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make sure the shows run smoothly.

She was inducted into USDAA’s Hall of Fame for starting, organizing and continuing to grow USDAA agility in Salt Lake City and the state of Utah and awarded the Meritorious Service Award.
