Gillian Crawford - 2020 - Meritorious Service
Gillian (Jill) Crawford has been involved in agility and obedience since 1988 and was a founding member of Rainier Agility Team, one of the Pacific Northwest's largest agility clubs; she served many times as president, training advisor and on the board of directors.
Jill also has been a trainer at Argus Ranch Dog Sports and Training Center in Auburn, Wash., for at least 15 years, and since 2007 she has been in charge of the Red Hot Rovers (RHR) club, which was founded in 2005. RHR held its first Pacific Northwest Regional competition in 2010 and has been holding them every year since. (A special 10-year celebration was planned for July 2020 but was canceled due to the pandemic.) RHR has also held competitions in British Columbia and has started working on getting USDAA going in Alaska.
She has trained many breeds, including Samoyeds, a Pomeranian (Cowboy), a Sheltie (Connor), Golden Retriever (Steal) and Border Collies (JJ and DJ). Some of her most memorable accomplishments include: Northwest Regional Team Placements 1st and 3rd (2010) and Performance 2nd; USDAA Nationals Performance Grand Prix Finalist 2009; USDAA Nationals Speed Jumping Finalist 2008. Currently, she has two border collies, DJ and Kibble. In her non-dog life, she is a legal secretary for one of the Pacific Northwest's premier trial law firms.
