Jane Burlison - 2022 - Meritorious Service

Jane (Bailey) Burlison of Payson, Ariz., has a long history of stepping up in service to the sport and dog community. As one of the founding members of Arizona’s first agility club, Jumping Chollas, she has instructed classes and worked at shows. Since then, she has been the go-to person to get things done at shows she attends — hauling equipment, timing, scribing, gating, setting courses and more. If it needed to get done, Jane was always the first to step up and fill the vacancy.
Jane is the founder of Aussie and Friends Rescue and has dedicated over 13 years to rehabilitating and rehoming Australian Shepherds and mini-Aussies throughout Arizona, including many who went on to have successful USDAA careers. And when Cynosport first came to Scottsdale in 2007, Jane jumped at the chance to ensure the judges, course builders and volunteers were well stocked with snacks, water and other essentials, a tradition she has continued for years, even if she wasn’t competing.
Jane and her dog Miss Tizzy earned the Gold Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. In recent years, Jane has not been able to compete regularly with her own dogs, but she is still a big part of the agility community in Northern Arizona. For the past few years, she has been the RV coordinator for First Dog Sports shows and is still timing, scribing, or doing whatever is needed to ensure the show runs smoothly.
