Kit Erskine - 2014 - Meritorious Service
Kit Erskine of Vermont represents the group, NOMAD (Northern Magic Agility Dogs), and has the distinction of being not only an agility competitor, but also a judge and volunteer. In fact, he has volunteered at every trial he has attended since starting to compete in agility in 2000, including all of the Cynosport® World Games since 2006. His favorite role is that of gate steward, helping competitors get into the right frame of mind before they step into the ring.
Kit became a starters/advanced judge in 2013, and said he enjoys watching the young teams play and learn.
He started competing in agility in 2000 with a hound named Loretta. He now competes with Jaxx, his first Border collie. All of his agility dogs have been rescues. Outside of agility, Kit works as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
Kit was inducted into the USDAA Hall of Fame in 2014 for Meritorious Service for his passion and exemplary spirit of volunteerism that added to the value of the sport.
