Renee Culpepper - 2015 - Meritorious Service
In 1996, Renee Culpepper of Shreveport, LA and her friend Joyce Zmek drove to Ventura, California, to volunteer at USDAA's annual Grand Prix of Dog Agility® tournament, and her involvement continued for decades after, not missing the trip each year. She has trekked close to a million miles to volunteer at USDAA events, often being one of the first people to arrive at the event and one of the last to leave after all the competitors have gone home.
Setting the rings, building courses, hanging banners, decorating the podium and repacking all the equipment at the end of the show so it’s ready to go the following year are just a few of the thousands of things she does every year, and she does it with a smile on her face.
Renee also volunteers at Cynosport®, lending a hand to ensure the event is running smoothly, while she’s also competing with her own dogs. The USDAA inducted Renee to the Hall of Fame with a Meritorious Service Award in 2015.
